Little Glee Monster Plan a Confession in the MV for “Brand New Me”!

Little Glee Monster has thrown open the doors on the MV for “Brand New Me” from their double A-side single “Jinsei wa Ichido Kiri/Gao Gao・All Star” (release date: July 15)!

Asahi plays a kind of plain girl who is in love with her senpai. The other members of Little Glee Monster are models on the cover of a fashion magazine that mysteriously appears in Asahi’s mailbox and pull her in. After a makeover, which includes the popular trope of removing her glasses, they cheer her on as she goes to give a newly written love letter to her senpai. But, just as Asahi is about to make her move, a rival appears out of nowhere and leads him away, hand in hand! As anyone would do in such a situation, Asahi runs to the beach to yell at the sea, joined by her new friends that came out of the magazine. The MV is a collaboration with fashion brand repipi armario and can be seen in stores across Japan.

“Jinsei wa Ichido Kiri/Gao Gao・All Star” comes in 3 versions. “Brand New Me” is only available on the limited edition CD/DVD version along with “Kimi wo Ima Demo” (Maju solo song) and the instrumental version for “Jinsei wa Ichido Kiri”. The DVD for that version has footage from their “Houkago High Five” live from April 19, 2015. “Gao Gao All Star” is the ending theme for the Pokemon XY anime and the theme song for “Pikachu to Pokemon Ongakutai” movie that opens on July 18th. The limited edition Pokemon version has almost the same track listing for the CD but comes with the instrumental for “Gao Gao・All Star” instead. The DVD has the full length MV for “Gao Gao・All Star” as well as a credit free clip of the ending animation of Pokemon XY and special Pokemon cover art. The regular version just has “Jinsei wa Ichido Kiri” and “Gao Gao・All Star” with the instrumental versions of the two songs.

Little Glee Monster will be at J-POP SUMMIT in San Francisco performing on August 8th and 9th so, make sure you get yourself there! When they return to Japan, they will be going on a Aeon Mall tour performing across the country and will release their 5th single “Suki da” on September 23. “Suki da” is the theme song for the drama ” Omotesando Koukou Gasshoubu!”, which is about a girl who comes to Tokyo from the countryside (Kagawa prefecture) to join the chorus club of a formerly prestigious high school, which is now facing dissolution.
