Koeda, one of the talented vocalists to work with J-pop collective supercell, has released the MV for “DanSin’” from her solo debut mini album “Nice to meet you.” (release date: June 3).
While one might be quick to dismiss “DanSin’” as an attempt to replicate the sound of Shiina Ringo in her younger days upon hearing that familiar wail, Koeda’s versatility proves her to be more than a mere imitator. Hearing the varied tones she produces and techniques she uses, it becomes evident why she was chosen as the vocalist of supercell at the age of 15 and that didn’t let that experience go to waste.
“Nice to meet you.” promises to be edgy pop that explores punk, dance music, and even ballads. Even more impressive is that Koeda herself wrote the lyrics and music for all 8 tracks which were produced by ryo, the mastermind behind supercell’s music.
