From July 20 to 22 2018, Keyakizaka46 and Hiragana Keyaki held their one-man live “Keyaki Kyowakoku 2018” at Fuji-Q Highland Conifer Forest.
Yurina Hirate, who has been on a break from the group’s activities since injuring her right arm at the end of 2017, finally made her comeback to Keyakizaka46’s solo lives after 11 months. Each day saw 15,000 fans in the audience, with a total number of 45,000 over the three days.
The first song was “Abunakkashii Keikaku”. A column of water surged up towards the clear blue sky as the live kicked off with a resounding call: “Keyaki Kyowakoku! Let’s go!”
Following that was “Silent Majority” and “Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai”, two single numbers that fired up the audience in one go.
As the setlist segued into the MC, captain Yuka Sugai greeted the fans: “Welcome to Keyaki Kyowakoku!”
Minami Koike spoke enthusiastically about the excitement of an outdoor live: “During “Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai” there was a beautiful rainbow which we’d only find at an outdoor live.”
After the unit songs, 37 members from Keyakizaka46 and Hiragana Keyaki came out together on stage in full force to sing “Taiyou wa Miageru Hito wo Erabanai”.
It was the first time for the second generation members of Hiragana Keyaki to perform this song. When the respective captions of each time Sugai and Kumi Sasaki proclaimed “Keyaki Kyowakoku is the best!” as one, loud cheers rose from the fans.
Keyakizaka46 then left the stage, and Hiragana Keyaki’s segment began. They carried out “Hydration Time”, calling for all the fans to take out their drinks in order to rehydrate themselves before Sasaki led the moment with a “kanpai!”. The fans toasted each other, creating a sense of solidarity among the crowd.
After that the members sang “Kitai Shite Inai Jibun”, “Dare Yori mo Takaku Tobe!” and “NO WAR in the future”, and stepped down from the stage leaving the smoldering passion of the three songs in their wake.
Keyakizaka46 returned to the stage with “Tokyo Tower wa Doko Kara Mieru?”, decked out in suits. They exhibited their cool side with “Eccentric”, “AM1:27” and “Kataru Nara Mirai wo…”, exemplifying what could be said as their true self with these performances before finishing off the series with “Kaze ni Fukarate mo”.
The encore began with “Futari Saison”, gently leading the concert into the night. The members continued with “Kimi ga Inai” and “Mou Mori e Kaerou ka?”, and then they left the stage.
The sky turned dark, and the stage lit up under the spotlights despite not a single person being there. The giant screen showed a lone Hirate dancing in silence. She danced with elegance, wrapped in a red light. Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass rang out into the night. Hirate appeared on stage wearing a red MA-1 jacket. Joining her fellow members, they gave a rousing performance of “Glass wo Ware!” and concluded the encore.
The lingering excitement of the audience’s cheers called for a double encore.
It was here that the group delivered a surprise performance of their new single “Ambivalent”, which is to be released this August 15. Ending on that high, they closed the curtains on yet another unforgettable love.
