Kamiyado Battle With Rock Bands at FM802 MINAMI WHEEL 2017!

Kamiyado brought the world of Harajuku to Osaka with their debut performance at FM802 MINAMI WHEEL 2017, one of the largest showcase music festivals in all of Japan.

Kamiyado kicked off the second day of the festival as the first performer of October 8th on the stage of Osaka RUIDO at 2:15pm, wasting no time as they lit up the crowd with “Odore! Kamiyado Carnival”, “Harajuku Sentai! KAMIYADO Ranger”, and “Hissatsu! Chō-KAMIYADO Senpū” in quick succession. Turning up the heat with one of their newest songs “Life is Yappa Beautiful!”, Kamiyado kept the pressure on as they blazed through “Action!” and “Summer Breeze”, uniting the crowd of as they made the letters K-M-Y-D with their arms together for their final song of the day “KMYD”.

As an event with more than 400 performers, FM802 MINAMI WHEEL 2017, Kamiyado had their work cut out for them as one of the few idol groups in a lineup dominated by rock bands and being almost completely unknown by most of the attendees who have probably never even seen an idol live before. While there was a clear separation between the “kakifu” (舁夫, Kamiyado fans) near the front of the stage and those waiting around for the acts to follow before Kamiyado went on stage, as soon as the live started the borders between the 2 factions dissolved as they were pulled into the mix.

Having made it to the main stage of Tokyo Idol Festival in 2017 and becoming one of the rising groups to follow, Kamiyado’s conquests have largely been centered in the Kanto region of Japan, making their appearance at FM802 MINAMI WHEEL 2017 in Osaka noteworthy. While Osaka RUIDO was slightly smaller than Umeda Shangri-la, the Osaka stop of their sold-out spring tour live, the members were still filled with anxiety as to what the day would bring, especially as the “top batter” of the day.

Kamiyado return to Osaka for MAWA LOOP 2017, a more idol heavy music festival on October 15, 2017. They will also be rereleasing their first album “Harajuku Hatsu! KAMIYADO desu.” alongside their second album “Harajuku! Chaku! KAMIYADO desu.” on November 14th with the accompanying KAMIYADO Zenkoku Tour 2017-2018 ~Hajimemashite!KAMIYADO desu.~ likely to bring them back to the region formerly known as Naniwa once again.
