Harajuku Fashion Icon Una Makes Artist Debut, Produced By 80kidz!

Una (you-na), who has attracted widespread attention and support as a street icon of Harajuku, is set to debut as an artist produced by 80kidz.

Una made a fashion model debut when she appeared in the magazine Zipper in 2010. She boasts an ultra-high popularity among fashion-keen teens, and has appeared in multiple events such as “KAWAii!! MATSURi”, and is regularly featured on fashion magazines such as Zipper, NYLON JAPAN, and KERA. She currently belongs to ASOBISYSTEM along with Kyari Pamyu Pamyu.

She was also chosen as the visual image model for the makeup brand KATE’s new line of cosmetic products, “KATEunlock”, which will be released beginning on June 1st, 2013.

The music side of Una’s artist debut will be produced by 80kidz, the world-class leaders of the Japanese electro scene. Known for their cutting-edge sound, this will be their first experience in producing a singer.

The debut song “Juicy Juicy” will also be used as the theme for the commercial for “Mentos® Duo Soda Assort” which will be aired beginning on June 5th. The commercial, featuring Una herself, was filmed on location in LA. Keep an eye out for the song and dance blowing away the happening party scene of the city!
