Igniting the Crepe Boom in Harajuku! Angels Heart, Takeshita Street’s Premier Crepe Shop
When you hear Harajuku, does your mind fill with the image of sweet crepes filled with plenty of whipped cream, ice cream, and fruits? Actually, there are a significant number of crepe shops along or nearby Takeshita Sreet. There’s not a day in Harajuku where you won’t spot a girl walking and eating a crepe.
Although it’s something you see every day now, Angels Heart was the first store in Harajuku to sell paper rolled fruit crepes! Since opening in 1977, it continues to offer crepes with an unchanging, delicious taste. This time, Alisa Urahama tried the crepes!
There are more than 60 different types on their menu! Their continually most popular number one is the banana chocolate whipped cream crepe, with second and third most popular being the strawberry chocolate whipped cream crepe and ice cream banana chocolate whipped cream crepe. Their winter seasonal flavors, hot red bean chestnut and hot caramel sweet potato look pretty good, too… Besides their sweet crepes that have whipped cream and fruit, they also have healthy menu options like prosciutto and Italian salad, along with avocado shrimp salad.
If you find yourself not knowing which crepe shop to chose, head over to Angels Heart, a where their paper rolled crepes have been a staple of Harajuku for a long time! The shop is also introduced in Tokyo Girls’ Update’s TV program on NHK WORLD, so don’t miss it too!
