Ehime metal idol duo FRUITPOCHETTE have released the MV for “Souten -Paradox-” from their first full album “The Crest of Evil” (release date: February 25).
“Souten -Paradox-” is quite heavy but unlike, “Ijin -CleverDick-“, it has a stronger melody that sticks in the mind instead of just chugging along. The set is also more brightly lit but Shiori Azuma and Mina Teratani spend a lot of time too close to the camera which kind of defeats the purpose. “Souten -Paradox-” is a solid reminder of the sound that made FRUITPOCHETTE one of the vanguards of the so-called “kawaii metal” genre.
Don’t make the mistake of dismissing them as “Babymetal imposters” just because you haven’t heard of them before, there are so many metal/rock-style idol groups active now that it would be naive to think that they’re all consciously “jumping on the bandwagon.
