First Impact! Evangelion Shinkansen Penetrates A.T. Fields in Neo Tokyo and Beyond!

It is the surprising fact that 2015 is the year that Shinji Ikari pilots Evangelion unit one for the first time and this year also is an anniversary for 20 years from the start of broadcasting the anime “Neon Genesis Evangelion” In addition, West Japan Railway (JR west) reaches its 40 years for opening Sanyo Shinkansen. Celebrating these two anniversaries, JR west announced the project called “Shinkansen: Evangelion Project”.
In this project, the special-designed Sanyo shinkansen, named “500 TYPE EVA” which is designed by Hideaki Anno, the director of the anime, and Ikuto Yamashita, the designer for mechanic, runs from autumn of 2015 to March of 2017.
On the shinkansen, anniversary gifts will be sold and also special contents based on the world of “Neon Genesis Evangelion” will be broadcast.The special homepage is already opened and the wallpaper is released. For internet members of J-WEST which is free to join, other contents like original movie, and wall paper are available.
“500 TYPE EVA” will departs from Hakata at 6:36, then Shin-Osaka at 11:14, and Hakata at 16:07. The actual date will be announced soon.
