Chisami Ito Announces Temporary Hiatus From GEM!

Chisami Ito announced via a post on GEM‘s official Ameba blog on July 6, 2015 that she would be taking a temporary leave of absence from performing with the group.
Ito echoed the sentiments of her fellow members in wanting to return to the Nippon Budokan, the venue where the official lineup for GEM was announced in 2013. Acknowledging the level of a group that is granted the opportunity to stand on the stage at one of the legendary venues of Japan, she felt that she still had much to improve on, prompting her to take time away from the group to work on improving her skills. Ito felt as if she could not keep up with the rest of the group during the second half of the live.
While GEM is already known as one of the top groups in terms of performance ability, having her younger sister Chiyuri being a member of Team Syachihoko, who had performed at the Nippon Budokan in 2014, it must be even harder for Chisami. Since Chisami was able to win a position in GEM through her hard work, it should be exciting to see how much she improves by the time she returns to the stage but, it is still disappointing to know that she may miss many of the big summer music festivals that are coming up.
