This Bond is Forever! Fudanjuku Releases MV for “Akashi -soul mate-” !

On Wednesday, January 18th, danso idol group Fudanjuku released Akashi -soul mate-, the final single for the group’s two remaining original members, Seimyouji Uramasa and Akazono Kojiro!

Fudanjuku has released 17 singles and 4 albums since their debut in 2008, and has undergone various changes in both group image and participating members. Akashi -soul mate- includes references to classic Fudanjuku songs like “Kizuna” and “Onaji Jidai no Umareta Wakamonotachi,” both representative of the group’s deep bond with their fans and the eternal legacy of members who have already graduated.

The PV opens with a shot of the members’ pinky fingers in a circle, the same hand sign used in Kizuna’s choreography to show the “red string of fate” tied between members and fans. The lyrics mention how lucky we are to have been born in the same era, but it’s not by chance– our meeting has been destined since our past lives!

The location shifts between a low key rehearsal room where the members goof around with each other to Osanbashi pier, a sprawling wooden structure with scenic views of Yokohama in the background. Sporting color-coded outfits reminiscent of male Jpop idols, Fudanjuku delivers an upbeat outdoor performance guaranteed to send the graduating members off with a smile.

Akashi -soul mate- and its B-sides were composed by the group Elements Garden, producers of music for 2D idol series Uta no Prince-sama, as well as Fudanjuku’s last single, NOIR. Akashi -soul mate- has been released in 7 varieties:

-Limited Edition C (Seimyouji Uramasa version, includes 1 of 5 photos of Uramasa with another member and the QR code for a video postcard, 3 tracks and karaoke versions)
-Limited Edition D (Akazono Kojiro version, includes 1 of 5 photos of Kojiro with another member and the QR code for a video postcard, 3 tracks and karaoke versions)
