First 4 of 8 Character Designs for Yasushi Akimoto-Produced Digital Idol Project Revealed!

The first 4 characters from the SONY Music Japan x Aniplex Digital Idol Project to be produced by Yasushi Akimoto have been revealed!

Reika Sato (佐藤麗華) – age: 17
Designed by Hirokazu Koyama (TYPE-MOON)

Koyama commented that the basis for Reika was a student council president from a good family that was also an idol.

Jun Toda (戸田ジュン”) – age: 16
Designed by Masayoshi Tanaka (Your Name, The Anthem of the Heart).

Tanaka’s basis for Jun was a young woman from a good family with a love for theater. She is a bit of a tsundere as well.

Sakura Fujima (藤間桜) – age: 17
Designed by Kantoku (Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko).

Kantoku expressed excitement at the flashy design of Sakura and kept in mind that she has a darkness within her during the design process.

Akane Maruyama (丸山あかね) – age: 17

Ohara started with the popular elements of glasses and black tights but had the frame of her glasses be broken on one side to add something different to Akane.

Auditions to voice the characters continue until 5:00pm (JST) on November 11th. Applicants must be females from 15 to 25 years old with an interest in being an idol and/or voice actress. Those who do not live in Tokyo must be able to travel there in order to participate in the audition if they make it past the second round of examinations and be open to being on television or web programs. They must also not be currently signed to a talent agency or production company. Although it is not written, since these are auditions for voice acting in Japan, proficiency in Japanese should be a given. The second round of the audition will take place in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo, and Fukuoka in early December and the final results will be made on December 24, 2016.
