Team Syachihoko Revives Para-Para Dance in the MV for “J.A.N.A.I.C.A.”!

Team Syachihoko have ripped the cover off their wild MV for “J.A.N.A.I.C.A.” from their EP “Eejanaika” (release date: October 28)!

With lyrics by rapper SEAMO and music by tofubeats, “J.A.N.A.I.C.A.” shrugs off several potentially devastating topics while Team Syachihoko dances para-para at a frenetic pace.

The title is taken from the title of the EP “Eejanaika”, which possibly comes from the social movement in Kansai during the Edo/Meiji Period, the members are joined by several backing dancers in gold tights with giant “A” masks (“A” is pronounced like the “ee” in “eejanaika”). The choreography, which was designed by Lucky Ikeda, is full of para-para moves which had been extremely popular with gyaru until a few years ago.

For those of you who can’t get enough of the choreography, Team Syachihoko has also released an “odottemita” (literally “I tried to dance”, a popular term used on Nico Nico for videos featuring dance performances) version. Focusing on the dance, you can see the para-para influence as the members’ arms are constantly moving but, they have added in some fast footwork and elements of festival dancing as well.

“Eejanaika” will be sold in 2 different versions. The limited edition version includes a Blu-ray with 8 songs from their May 10, 2015 Makuhari HOLLYWOOD ~Ottori Girl no Kakusei~ live at Makuhari Messe Event Hall. Lastly, the DVD/Blu-ray for Team Syachihoko’s August 28th concert Syachi Summer (Syachisama) 2015 at Nagoya resort/theme park Laguna Ten Bosch will be released on November 18, 2015. It will be released in regular and deluxe editions and the deluxe versions will include a live CD from the concert.
