It seems that the latest trend to sweep through the Internet is the practice of attempting to balance smartphones (and other things) on breasts. Many have cited the animated web series “Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” (月曜日のたわわ, Tawawa on Monday, “tawawa” means bending/drooping like a tree branch heavy with fruit) by Kiseki Himura for sparking the trend.
“Getsuyoubi no Tawawa” is the story of a depressed salaryman who bumps into a well-endowed school girl at a train station one day. He eventually becomes her “bodyguard” to protect her from gropers on the train. Shortly after the first episode of the anime adaptation made its appearance on YouTube on October 10th, it was taken down temporarily for “violation of Community Guidelines”. It was restored on October 13th but accompanied by a message from Himura on Twitter that it was temporary and alternative options to complete the broadcast of the 12-episode series were being explored.
However, it may be the illustration that accompanied the announcement of the web series on October 10th that is responsible for the phone balancing trend? Himura has been tweeting similar pictures of big-breasted young women every Monday to help encourage students and workers to face the dread that accompanies Mondays.
Anyways, here are some examples from Twitter of people who have been seeing if they had what it takes when it comes to the “Tawawa Challenge” (#たわわチャレンジ).
All the members of “big breasted idol group” KNU successfully cleared the challenge! This is just one of 11 videos they tweeted on October 14th!
Ichiho Shirahata of Gokigen Teikoku tries several different positions to compensate for her slender figure before simply tucking the remote in the top of her school swimsuit. Justice!
