For the second year in a row, Sanrio Puroland was taken over by iDOL Street for a Halloween party on October 25, 2014. This year’s even was titled “SUPER☆GiRLS ‘Chozetsu Halloween’~in Sanrio Puroland”.

The Halloween event featured premium live performances from SUPER☆GiRLS, Cheeky Parade, and GEM, who also participated in the “Arigato Everyone” parade celebrating Hello Kitty’s 40th anniversary, and all of the iDOL Street Street-sei walking around the amusement park dressed as employees making themselves available for any photo opportunities.

As electrifying as the performances of SUPER☆GiRLS, Cheeky Parade, and GEM are usually, the addition of special collaboration performances with Sanrio’s most popular characters was truly a sight that can only been seen once a year. SUPER☆GiRLS again got together with Hello Kitty; the international icon of Japanese pop culture, to perform their summer hit “Ahhahha! ~Chouzetsu Bakushou Ondo~”. The mischievous Kuromi took over the center position for Cheeky Parade’s “Together” and even seemed to be trying to block out Mariya Suzuki when they were positioning to take a photo after the song. Little Twin Stars joined GEM for a sparkling performance of “We’re GEM!”

During the afternoon parade, the members of SUPER☆GiRLS, Cheeky Parade, and GEM encircled the Tree of Wisdom in the middle of Puroland along with all of the amazing performers and beloved Sanrio characters to wish “Happy Birthday” to Hello Kitty and many of the children who had come to the park that day. It was also the birthday performances for Rika Shimura (October 2), the leader of SUPER☆GiRLS and Nana Minamiguchi (October 5) from GEM and fans were ready with cyalumes in their colors and even a huge banner. Shimura vowed to live more seriously in the coming year but also playfully answered “nyan nyan” (cat language for 22) when asked how old she was.

In addition to throwing candy into the audience during their performance, SUPER☆GiRLS wore witch outfits accented with their colors, which were specially made just for that day for an extra dose of Halloween cheer. Newly joined members Koume Watanabe, Nana Asakawa, and Risa Uchimura were ecstatic after their first Sanrio Puroland performance. Reira Arai and Rino Katsuta added, “It was a great honor to share the stage with an internationally beloved idol of Japanese pop culture like Hello Kitty…and SUPER☆GiRLS is working hard to reach that level someday”.
