A First Look at the Outfits and Cover Art for LinQ’s 5th Single “Wessai!! Gassai!!”

Ever since details of LinQ’s 5th single were announced at Tokyo Idol Festival a few weeks ago, expectations were high. To refresh your memory: Mofuku-chan (Maiko Fukushima, producer of Dempagumi.inc) is producing the single, Risa Aizawa (Dempagumi.inc) designed the costumes, Nemu Yumemi (Dempagumi.inc) is collaborating with video director Smith (SumiNemu) for the PV, and Ai☆Madonna is providing illustrations of the members. After weeks of waiting, we finally have our first look at the cover art and costumes!
Featuring artwork reminiscent of the 1980’s, the covers show us a side of LinQ that has not been seen before. This is contrasted by the costumes of the members on the cover, which looks to be styled after something that an expedition party would wear, with a few “pop” accents added, of course. The concept of the costumes ties in with the theme of the song, which is “adventure” and “challenge”. Although they cannot be seen in the pictures we have so far, each member’s costume has a self portrait drawn by Ai☆Madonna on the back as well for some extra ‘80’s flair!

The completed music video is due to appear any day now, so stay tuned to see how the results of this anticipated Mofuku-chan x Dempagumi x LinQ collaboration unfold! Could we perhaps get to see the first performance of “Wessai!! Gassai!!” at Yokohama Arena when LinQ appears at this weekend’s @JAM EXPO? LinQ’s 5th single “Wessai!! Gassai!!” goes on sale September 24th.
