“KANSAI COLLECTION 2013“, one of the biggest fashion show in Japan, took place at Kyocera Dome Osaka on September 21st, 2013. Kyocera Dome is a baseball stadium located in Osaka, Japan. Live concerts of major artists such as AKB48 is also held.
But, on that day, the venue was filled with girls who loves fashion. The number of visitors on the day was around 27,000.
“KANSAI COLLECTION” is a culture event that advocates the theme, “From Osaka to the World.” Visitors enjoy not only fashion shows, but also live performances by special artists, or food stand that sell Okonomiyaki or Takoyaki which are Kansai Region’s famous foods. There are lots of hospitality unique to Kansai.
On the early part of the fashion show, former AKB48 member Shinoda Mariko appeared on the runway wearing ricoli‘s clothes that is the brand she serves as a director.
Moreover, Itano Tomomi made surprise appearance! This was her first appearance since she graduated AKB48. Her new look (she cut her bangs about 30cm and died her hair in blond!) took audience surprise.
Of course, other popular models also participated and added various colors to the fashion show.
Amature models from the popular teen fashion magazine “Nicola” also appeared, they were little bit strained but their runway-walk were very grand.
There were also 2 stage that features Japanese Kimono! It was also a special experience to see Kimono models in runway of big fashion show.
Well, Japanese fashion trend is originated in the various regions, not only in Tokyo.
In particular, Kansai region is the old capital, so you may enjoy traditional atmosphere as well as trendy fashion in the region.
