Haruka Kudo Makes Acting Debut as New Super Sentai Heroine!

Haruka Kudo, who graduated from Morning Musume.’17 in December 2017, has made her debut as an actress.

Starting from February 2018, she will be appearing in the new Super Sentai Series “Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger” television show.

In this 42nd instalment of the Super Sentai series, two Super Sentai teams will be appearing for the first time in history; it’s going to be a collision of two hero squadrons.

The double Sentai is represented by the kaitou (gentleman thief) and keisatsu (police). On the kaitou side, the Lupinrangers are a three-hero team of gentleman thieves supported by the masses. The keisatsu‘s Patrangers are another trio who fight for justice and the future. The two teams come into a clash over the great thief Arsène Lupin’s treasured “Lupan Collection”. The miraculous power of the hidden collection item—which can both save the world and destroy it—falls into the hands of Gangler, a crime organization from a parallel world. The double Sentai band together to chase after Gangler and retrieve the precious item.

Kudo will play Umika Hayami, who transforms into Lupin Yellow of the Lupinrangers.

During the cast introduction event on January 12 2018, Kudo said: “This will be my debut work as an actress. I hope it can become a show beloved by many people for a long time.” When she was 13 years old, Kudo once told her senior Erina Mano that she “loves Super Sentai and wants to become one int he future”, to which she was told she could “probably achieve that in 5 years”. That is exactly what has happened, and Kudo recalled that surprising episode saying that “Mano-san was a prophet”. She declared: “I’m confident that this is not jut a coincidence but a role that was made for me, so I’m going to work hard.”

When asked what her treasure was, she replied with shining eyes: “This show. I’m glad that I can debut with this. It’s going to be my treasure for life.”
