SENTO GIRL -Isshin-yu × ano (You’ll Melt More!) -vol.1
SENTO GIRL - 一心湯×あの(ゆるめるモ!)- vol.1SENTO GIRL is photo project aiming to show you the renaissance of Sento through the collaboration of these wonderful creators! Now for our 6th round we welcomed ano from idol group “You’ll Melt More!” as model.
This time we visited Isshin-yu located in Shin-Koiwai, the east area of Tokyo. Walking down the street to the Sento, you can feel gentle warmth of the local community. There is a meeting spot in front of the station, a shopping street, many other Sento nearby, and small super markets, where local people gather and talk.
In this work, ano looks like a girl who time-travels from the 80’s with retro light-blue based outfit, which is the same color from her costume as You’ll Melt More!. It collaborates with the photographer mitifo’s light blue filtered photo and brings new feeling.
Sento are public bathhouses which have been a part of Japanese culture for centuries and it may be worlds away from a lot of the latest Japanese culture usually featured on Tokyo Girl’s Update, but with the cooperation of TOKYO SENTO, we have begun our journey into the unique and comforting world of Sento.
