Odaiba is well known as a great place for dates and shopping, but did you know that it is also home to the automobile theme park “MEGA WEB”, which is managed by the well-known automobile company Toyota.
MEGA WEB is split up into three different areas and in the area “TOYOTA CITY SHOWCASE”, you can check out the latest Toyota models before they are released anywhere else. And naturally, you are more than welcome to open up car doors and even hop inside!
In the area “RIDE STUDIO”, even those without licenses, including children, can experience the fun of driving and its related traffic rules by hopping in the electric automobiles.
And now onto the area visited by our reporter Alisa, “History Garage”. Here there are automobiles on display that are historically well-known across the globe. It goes without saying that this is the place to learn about all there is to know of the history of automobiles! Even the interior is a nice replica that many will find very nostalgic, and here you can check out all of the cars produced between 1950 and 1970. Walking around and seeing all these cars from history will make you feel like you’ve gone back in time!
And now onto the car that Alisa has been looking forward to the most! On display is De Lorean, the time-slipping car that featured in the movie “Back to the Future”. On this visit we received special approval to hop in it for our photo shoot! It was an unforgettable experience and Alisa loved every moment of it!
There are also other great areas to check out such as the history of motor sports corner and the “Restore Stop”; a place where you can see old famous automobiles being restored. For car lovers it’s a must-see but even those who don’t know much about cars can fully enjoy themselves at Odaiba’s hole-in-the-wall spot MEGA WEB.
