GEM’s Maaya Takeda has Found a New Job!?

On July 28th at the Echizen police station in Fukui Prefecture, Maaya Takeda (15) became the Police Station Chief for a day. In a uniform too big and baggy for her (but so incredibly cute!), we watched as she actually explained traffic rules to drivers and participated in a transportation safety campaign, as well as crime-prevention programs. With her birthplace being Fukui Prefecture, it was big position with a grand inauguration.
Maaya is currently in 10 member girls’ group “GEM”, and has only débuted as of January 1st. She has been gathering a lot of attention for a 15 year-old, and is even said to resemble popular news anchor, Minako Nakano, and is also dubbed the “2nd Kanna Hashimoto” on the internet.
In regards to her one-day shift as the Head of the Police at Fukui, Maaya has said, “Today I have been allowed to become the Head Chief for one day, and I’ve learned so much. The police uniform is the real thing, and I even got to ride a police car, see the inside of the police station, etc, and just do things I’ve never done before, so it was very exciting”.
When she participated in transportation safety PR she stated that, “The reason why everyone is safely living in this society is because all the police officers are here for us. From now on as well, I want to follow the traffic rules and live safely. I also want to make the best of today’s experience, so I want to call out to those around me to be safe!”.
There is no mistake that this cute one-day Police Chief did a thorough job!
