Shibuya rock idols CANDY GO!GO! have turned the ignition on the MV for “overdrive” from their major label debut double A-side single “overdrive/Taisetsu na Oshirase” (release date: January 20)!
The MV for “overdrive” shifts between scenes of CANDY GO!GO! dancing in a field and being chained up while hands belonging to an unseen person reach out towards them. Perhaps the chains are a metaphor for all of the trials and tribulations of seeing members come and go in the more than 5 years they have been together. Despite it all, CANDY GO!GO! has been a steady fixture in the idol scene so it is well deserved that they have been acknowledged.
“overdrive/Taisetsu na Oshirase” has been released in 4 versions. The CD/DVD version includes the MV for “overdrive” and a 3rd song titled “Violette”. Type-A has the same 3 songs as the CD/DVD version but does not have a DVD. Type-B includes a 3rd song titled “Nervous Venus”. Type-C includes a 3rd song titled “Pretty Pain”. CANDY GO!GO! is also having a promotional tie-in with JOYSOUND karaoke where you might be able to win backstage passes and other prizes depending on how well you sing “overdrive” or “Taisetsu na Oshirase” according to the ranking features built into the machines.
