Yuumi Shida of Yumemiru Adolescence Chosen as Heroine for New Kamen Rider!

The press conference for the new series in the “Kamen Rider Series“, a tokusatsu TV drama, was held in Tokyo on the 25th. The title of the series was announced as Kamen Rider Gaim, and it was also revealed that Sano Gaku, the winner of 2001 Junon Superboy Contest Grand Prix, is to be hired to play the lead. The series will be broadcast on TV Asahi starting October 6th, 2013, at 8:00 am.

Kamen Rider is the hero of heroes in Japan, and it is a super popular series supported by children and adults alike.

In Kamen Rider Gaim, the 15th Kamen Rider series, the hero’s’ design motifs are that of Samurai armor and fruits. He uses fruit-themed Lockseeds to transform, and fights his enemies wearing armors empowered by a “fruit of another world” and using weapons that utilize the characteristics of the fruit. Besides the hero Kamen Rider Gaim other riders will appear as rivals, fighting for their own justice, making the story a “warring period of Kamen Riders.”

Also, Yuumi Yoshida of Yumemiru Adolescence was chosen as the heroine. Yumemiru Adolescence is an idol group whose members each aim to become a national superstar, and the role in the series certain is a step towards that goal.

Furthermore, the series has garnered attention for its script written by Gen Urobuchi. Urobuchi is known to have written for a number of games and animes, one of the most recent works being Magical Girl Madoka of the Magus. Many of his stories involve deep plot lines and his fans say that he has a depressing writing style and how that will fuse with the renowned Kamen Rider Series has become a popular topic of conversation.

Yumemiru Adolescence is to hold a concert on August 9th at Mt. Rainier Hall Shibuya for their 1 year anniversary since the formation of the group. The tickets have already sold out.
