Cat Cafe MoCHA, the Ultimate Place to Relax for Cat Lovers in Ikebukuro!
Cat cafes are cafes where you can spend time with cats while you take your time relaxing. According to our sources, there are currently about 200 cat cafes all across Japan. Apparently, the first cat cafe originally opened up in Taiwan back in 1998. Later in 2004, Japan’s first cat cafe opened up in Osaka and after cafes started appearing all over. Since then, due to their popularity, they’ve started to spread overseas, and over the past few years cat cafes have started opening up in Asia, Europe, Russia, and so on. Although different breeds of cats can be found in each country, it seems that cat lovers all over the world are the same.
Among the many different cat cafes you can find in Japan, this time we’d like to introduce Cat Cafe MoCHA, which is a stylish cat cafe that just opened up in February! It looks adorable from the outside.
Three girls, Kumiko Funayama, Ai Matsumoto, and Hikari Shina, who all wanted to share a relaxing time with the cute kitties there, paid the cafe a visit.
Upon entering the cafe, you’ll find around 15 cats moving around the large cafe space and basking in the sunlight as they relax in their favorite spots.
All three of the girls couldn’t resist saying, “How cute~!!” in delight. Inside the cafe, guests can freely touch or hold the cats. Pictures are also okay, as long as they’re taken without flash. The girls immediately found cats they liked, and began playing with them. The cats were completely into it.
The cafe sells cat treats for 500 yen, and so the models tried giving some to the cats. As soon as they saw the girls had treats, they all came running at once!
The girls spent about an hour in complete bliss, and left completely relaxed. For those of you interested in getting rid of some of that daily fatigue, we encourage you to check it out for yourself! All of the cats at the cafe are kittens under a year and a half old. Since have to be very gentle with them, be sure to keep the cafe’s rules in mind as you enjoy yourself!
