FES☆TIVE transcend time and space in the MV for their 3rd major label single “Susume Jipangu” (release date: March 16)!

Contributor Wanted!!

The MV for “Susume Jipangu” has the members of FES☆TIVE paddling their boats in search of land, similar to the explorers who gave Japan the antiquated name of “Jipangu”, which was transliterated from Chinese centuries ago. As always, references to elements of Japanese culture are scattered throughout, from the lyrics mentioning miso soup and natto, or the homage to classic fighting games and slapstick comedy gags. Several of the scenes take place in the trendy Harajuku 2.5 Spinns, connecting the past to the present. Tossing Mitsuki Suzuki into the air, she ends up in outer space (with floating sushi and fried shrimps) and doesn’t return to Earth until 10 billion years later. Miraculously, the other members are not only still alive but jump back up to finish the song. Here are some screencaps.

There’s a version with English subtitles too!

Contributor Wanted!!

“Susume Jipangu” will be released in 3 different versions featuring artwork by illustrators Yurie Sekiya (Type-A), hutomochu (Type-B), and Hajime Fantasy (Type-C). The coupling song is “Shidareyanagi” and each version will have a different bonus track: “Koi Kouyo” (Type-A), “Shidareyanagi (remix)” (Type-B), and “Don Doko Matsu-rhythm -Moriagare Taiko-chan-” (Type-C). It seems that the creators are still putting the finishing touches on the covers so look forward to seeing them soon!
