In the MV for LAGOON’s 2nd single “KNOCKED-OUT BOY” (release date: May 27) vocalist Miori Takimoto lures a deer and a horse into a store and punches them out!

Even though they are obviously humans with rubber masks on, the story is still a bit difficult to follow. Why is the horse and deer walking around in front of the store while Miori is washing a car? Why is she so dressed up while washing the car? What is up with the other members pounding their silverware on the table as if they are going to eat? Because this is a combination of the short version of the MV and a making of video, you will have to buy the single in order to find out what happens! “KNOCKED-OUT BOY” is not as hard as LAGOON’s debut single “Kimi no Matsu Sekai” but fans of Miori should not be disappointed by her scenes that look like they were taken from a photobook DVD.

“KNOCKED-OUT BOY” will be released in a limited edition version with a DVD and a regular CD-only version. The lyrics for “KNOCKED-OUT BOY” were written by Miori and Kumiko Takahashi (ex-chatmonchy). The DVD features the full-length versions of the MV and making of for “KNOCKED-OUT BOY”. Both versions feature the coupling songs “Platinum no Secret” and “Shout it out!!”.

While it is not unusual for actors, actresses, models, comedians, and tarento in Japan to explore music projects, some of you may remember that Miori was a member of the idol group SweetS from 2003 until 2006 before she became an actress. She sort of returned to music after that when she acted as a male idol in the drama “Ikemen Desu ne” alongside AKB48’s Haruna Kojima in 2011. Perhaps “KNOCKED-OUT BOY” is an indication of how LAGOON will, like Miori’s acting career, try out a lot of different styles as they continue to develop?
