Faint*Star, MUSUBIZM, FES☆TIVE, FEMM and So Many Other Gathered! J-POP SUMMIT 2015 in San Fransisco Report

J-POP SUMMIT 2015 in San Fransisco was held from August 7th to August 9th. This summit started in 2009 and this year was their 7th year as an event to introduce the latest Japanese pop culture. Along with the J-POP SUMMIT, Japan Film Festival of San Fransisco, SAKE SUMMIT, and MATCHA SUMMIT was held with a total of 32000 visitors.

Every year, the J-POP SUMMIT introduces Japanese culture from many genres, and this year, the genres “Interactive (IT,Technoloty)”, and “Travel” were added.

This years stage lineup was JAM Project, Ken Ishii, Eir Aoi, Gacharic Spin, FEMM, Little Glee Monster, YANAKIKU, Anamanaguchi, Jinny Oops!, and The Akabane Vulgars on Strong Bypass. And Tokyo Girls’ Update produced the stages of Faint*Star, FES★TIVE, and comedians Jaru Jaru!

Within the summit, there was also the MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON FESTIVAL which was produced by Asobi System. In this event, Ayumi Seto, Anna Yano, AMIAYA, and MUSUBIZM came to introduce Japanese culture.

At the Kinokuniya Book Store booth, there was a autograph event with Yusuke Nakamura and a large head balloon of “Attack on Titan”.

Also, the attendees enjoyed shochu – the J-POP SUMMIT 2015’s official alcohol drink “Iichiko Bar FRUITS YUZU and UME” that won the double gold medal at the 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition!

I hope there will be more events like this so we can spread the Japanese culture around the world!
