26 members from 48 group attended the shrine, Kanda-Myojin, to participate the coming-of-age ceremony. After the members prayed, they took the commemorative photos.
It marked largest participants ever in 48 group’s history.
Although it was held in early morning, 1,000 fans gathered at the shrine.
Major members leading new generation of 48 group, such as Mayu Watanabe and Shimazaki Haruka from AKB48, and Sayaka Yamamoto and Miyuki Watanabe from NMB48, attended in beautiful kimono style!
Watanabe appeared in vermillion kimono with ribbon and roses, and lace fabric that she loves. She commented as representative of AKB, “2014 is the fatal year for AKB, we’d like to do our best in one united body.”
Shimazaki appeared in kimono with colorful striped pattern. It was like a zoo because cranes, cats, and flowers were also woven. She mentioned that, “I took Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s style as a reference . I ordered this kimono to make it different from others and show my personality.”
The black kimono of NMB48’s Yamamoto formed a striking contrast to others that were all colorful. She commented, “This is my sister’s kimono, I’m so happy that I could also wear this. Today’s coordination concept is Nōhime, who was Nobunaga’s wife, in Sengoku Basara (Samurai Heroes).”
Watanabe’s kimono had sleeves drawn the different pattern in the left right. She said, “My stylist said to me, “You are beautiful like a flower.” Then, she put the accessory of butterfly on me, so I’m feeling just fine! I want to do my best to make NMB48 known nationwide more and more!”
