DIVA Reveals Details about their Self-Titled First Last Album

AKB48 “dance and vocal” sub-unit DIVA revealed the track list and cover art for their first last album “DIVA” as well as a video with comments from the members.
Coming off the success of their final single “DISCOVERY” which ranked 4th on the Oricon charts, DIVA revealed the cover art and track list for their first last album, which will be released on November 5, 2014. In addition to including all the singles in DIVA’s 4-year history, there are songs with lyrics written by Sayaka Akimoto (“Hitori Omoi”), Sae Miyazawa (“DIVA!”), and former AKB48 member Yuko Oshima.
In the video, the members of DIVA talk about their feelings on the lyrics of the final album and at the end they explain that there are special event tickets included in their last single “DISCOVERY” as well as their last album “DIVA” for their final concert.
Sae Miyazawa: “Writing the lyrics was fun, thinking ‘I want to have it performed like this live, this sort of choreography would be great’ to have all those ideas floating around in my head was fun”.
Ayaka Umeda: “Writing the lyrics while imagining, ‘what if an idol found someone that they were in unrequited love with, would the feelings be like this?’ was fun”.
Yuka Masuda: “It was kind of embarrassing but, I tried to write it as if I were giving advice to fans on romantic relationships, I was thinking of so many ways how to adapt it to myself and so I kind of went all-out in writing it”.
Sayaka Akimoto: “I wanted to write it so that it would give the feeling of winter…it was the first time for me to write the lyrics for an entire song so, I started with the hook and kind of went from there, it was really difficult”.
Although details are still being worked out and even if you don’t understand Japanese, the video is worth watching just to see “Ume-chan” (Ayaka Umeda) acting crazy as Sae Miyazawa is talking.
