We’ll fight no matter what!：Interview with KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU

On August 8, 2018, KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU released their first single “Shortcakeism”. It was their first CD release in ten months, since their debut mini album “KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU” in November 2017. In March two members graduated, following which four new members joined the group. We bring you the individual comments of the seven members regarding their new song!
2018年8月8日に1stシングル「ショートケーキイズム」を発売した風光ル梟。2017年11月のデビューミニアルバム「風光ル梟」から約10カ月ぶりのCDリリースとなった。
3月にメンバー2人が卒業し、その後新メンバー4人が加入。新体制となった風光ル梟の7人に新曲の聴きどころについてコメントをいただきました！

– Please tell us your feelings about writing the lyrics for “Shortcakeism”, “Papapa” and “Bokura Road”.
– 「ショートケーキイズム」「パパパ」「僕らロード」の 3 曲すべての作詞を担当されていますが、制作中の思い出を教えてください。

Our theme this time is “We’ll fight no matter what”. It’s because we’ve become who we are as a group with this lineup of members that I thought of such a message.
“Shortcakeism” will make people wonder what is real and what is fake, interpret all sorts of stories. Is it a cheer towards the people who fight, or the lamentation of our own fight? I wanted to incorporate the metaphor of hierarchy in our society into this song.
“それでも僕たちは戦っていく”これが今回のテーマです。今の風光ル梟だからこそ、このメンバーだからこそ伝えられるメッセージを考えました。
「ショートケーキイズム」という楽曲は、ここで描かれた世界はリアルなのかフェイクなのか、きっと人それぞれ感じるストーリーも違うはずです。戦う人への応援歌なのか、戦う僕達の嘆きなのか・・・と、どんな世界にもあるであろうヒエラルキーをショートケーキに比喩してみました。

Nice to meet you! I’m the playing producer Misaki. Our group consists of six members and myself, and we work together as the seven of us. All of us live in other than the Tokyo area and every week we come to Tokyo and fight fighting on the battlefield that idol. We still have a long way to go, but from here on I want to share our future with more and more people. Thank you for your support.
初めまして！風光ル梟のプレーイングプロデューサーMisakiです。メンバー6人とプレーイングプロデューサー1人の7人で活動しているグループで、全員地方在住で毎週上京しアイドルという戦場で戦っています。まだまだ成長過程の風光ル梟ですが、ここからの未来を一人でも多くの方と共に過ごしていきたいです。応援よろしくお願いします。

I’m 17 years old and in my third year of high school.
高校3年生、17歳です。

– Tell us your first impressions when you read the lyrics of “Shortcakeism”.
– 「ショートケーキイズム」の歌詞を初めて読んだ、曲を聴いたときの感想を教えてください。

When I first heard them, I was worried if I could probably sing the rap lines in the beginning. But on the day of recording I put all my feelings into the lyrics and did my best to sing them.
初めて聴いたときは、最初の部分がラップというかセリフ口調になっていて、上手く歌えるか不安でした。ですが、レコーディングの時は、台詞に感情を入れて頑張って歌いました。

– What should we look out for in the lyrics or choreography of “Shortcakeism?”
– 「ショートケーキイズム」のお気に入りの歌詞や、振り付け、注目してもらいたいポイントを教えてください。

In the second chorus there’s a part of the choreography where we run intently, so I want to run together with the audience during that! As for the lyrics, the chorus has the strong lyrics “The fight begins now”, so I hope the determination we have is conveyed to everyone.
二番のサビでは、私たちの振り付けがひたすら走ってるので、その部分はお客さんと一緒に走りたいです！歌詞の部分では、ここから戦っていくぞという強い歌詞がサビの部分で書かれているので、その思いがみなさんにも伝われば良いなと思います。

I’m Kanon Yamazaki of KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU. Just like the lyrics in “Shortcakeism” say, I want to do my best in this group with the strong conviction of fighting in this world. Please give us your support and listen to “Shortcake-ism” lots!♡
風光ル梟の山崎カノンです。「ショートケーキイズム」の歌詞通り、この世界で戦っていくぞという強い気持ちで、これからも風光ル梟は頑張っていくので、みなさん応援よろしくお願いします！「ショートケーキイズム」たくさん聞いてね！♡

I thought it’d be a cute song because of the title, but it turned out to have strong and straightforward lyrics. It felt like a song intended for us and people who face their own fights.
曲名を聞いた時はかわいい感じの曲なのかなって思ったけど、歌詞を見たら強くてまっすぐに伝わる歌詞があって、この曲は何かと戦っている人や自分たちへ向けての応援ソングだなと思いました。

My favorite line is “I hate wasting the joker”. Rin sings this line, but it evokes the strongest emotions and so I like it.
The chorus has easy choreography that everyone can follow, so I want to liven our lives up by dancing together!
お気に入りの歌詞は、『自らジョーカー無駄にするやつこそ僕は大嫌いだ』のところです。ここはりんが歌っているのですが、いちばん感情を入れて歌えるところなので、この歌詞がお気に入りです。
サビではみなさんと一緒に出来る簡単な振り付けがあるので、ライブに来た時は踊って盛り上がってほしいです！

Hello! I’m Rin Oonishi, and I’m 15 years old. I’m a high school freshman, born in Ishikawa prefecture. I still have much to improve in singing and dancing and MC, but together with the members I’ll work hard to spread my wings strongly and beautifully. Please give me your support!
こんにちは！石川県出身の高校1年生15歳、大西凜です。歌もダンスもMCもまだまだなりんですが、メンバーみんなと強く美しく羽ばたけるように頑張っていくので、応援よろしくお願いします！

– Tell us how you came to be a member of KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU and your thoughts after joining the group.
– 風光ル梟に加入したきっかけや、加入後の感想を教えてください。

I love dancing and singing, and always dreamed of turning it into a career since I was in elementary school. At the age of 20 I received this huge offer, and I decided to take the chance and join the group. Of course in this industry that’s full of idols, I want to think about how to fight and survive in it. As part of the group and as my own individual self, I’ll do my best.
踊る事と歌う事が好きで、それを将来仕事に出来たらいいなという思いで小学生の頃からやってきたので、20歳というキッカケでこの大きなお話を貰って、チャンスだと思って加入しました。改めてアイドルさんが多いこの世界でどうやって勝ち残って行くか、風光ル梟としても個々としてもそれを考えながら頑張っていきたいです。

– Tell us your memories of the recording.
– レコーディングの思い出を教えてください。

It was my first time recording a song and I was so nervous I was shaking and couldn’t produce any sound, but thanks to the staff who made it a comfortable atmosphere I was able to enjoy myself and do it.
レコーディング自体が初めてだったので最初は緊張しすぎて震えるし声も出ないし、けどスタッフさん達が緊張しないようにと素敵な空気を作ってくださったので楽しく出来ました。

Once again, I’m Kana Iwaya from KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU. I’ll take the lead as the oldest member, so that we can do our best to let everyone experience the value of coming to our live shows and meeting us. Please give us your support from now on!

– Tell us how you came to be a member of KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU and your thoughts after joining the group.
– 風光ル梟に加入したきっかけや、加入後の感想を教えてください。

In the beginning I never had the intention of becoming an idol, but I went to a high school that was involved with the entertainment industry. As part of the curriculum I participated in idol activites for three years and came to love singing and dancing in front of people. When I was nearing graduation I heard about the audition for KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU and decided to try it out! Since joining the group everything’s been going by so fast especially with the release of “Shortcakeism”, so I think this is only the beginning!
最初はアイドルをやるつもりは全くなかったんですけど、芸能関係の高校に行き、授業の一環として3年間アイドル活動をして、人前に立って歌って踊ることが好きになりました。卒業間近の時に風光ル梟のオーディションの事を聞いてオーディションを受けようと思いました！加入後は結構バタバタ進んでいって、「ショートケーキイズム」のリリースがあって、こっからほんまに始まるんやな！ってゆう気持ちです！

– Tell us your memories of the recording.
– レコーディングの思い出を教えてください。

I’m not that good in singing, but I thought hard about how I could express my individuality when I challenged the recording. “Shortcakeism” has easy-to-copy choreography, so I hope everyone does it together with us!
私はあまり歌が得意じゃないんですけど自分の個性をどうしたら出せるかをよく考えてレコーディングに挑みました！「ショートケーキイズム」の振り付けはお客さんも真似しやすい振付になってるので皆さんにもしてほしいです！

We’re still an inexperienced group who just started, but we’ll work our hardest every day to reach the peak of the idol world so please support us!

I’m Nao Hiura, 14 years old and in my third year of middle school.
中学３年生14歳、日浦菜緒です。

– Tell us how you came to be a member of KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU and your thoughts after joining the group.
– 風光ル梟に加入したきっかけや、加入後の感想を教えてください。

Before joining this group I was in a dance and vocal group, so I wanted to use that experience and shine brighter on an even bigger stage to deliver music and dance to lots of people. With that goal in mind, I applied for the new member audition. After joining the group I experienced and learned many things. There are lots I have to reflect on after every live, so I’m always thinking about the next one. But there’s also our first CD release, and I’m really looking forward to that.
私が風光ル梟に加入したきっかけは、過去に活動をさせてもらっていたダンス&ボーカルグループプでの経験と、これからもっと大きなステージに立ってキラキラ輝きたい、たくさんの人に歌やダンスを届けたいと思い、新メンバーオーディションを受けました。加入後はいろんな経験が出来て、たくさん勉強になります。ライブ後はまだまだ反省ばかりで、次のライブの事をいつも考えています。でも初めてのCDリリースもあって、これからがすごく楽しみです。

– Tell us your memories of the recording.
– レコーディングの思い出を教えてください。

It was my first recording experience so I was nervous. I wasn’t used to singing with headphones on and failed many times. But I received a lot of advice and was able to get used to it bit by bit until I could sing with all my might.
With the difficulty of the recording and the hay fever I had, it was hard to sing as I always did. But it was a peaceful atmosphere during the recording, and I enjoyed myself.
レコーディングは初めての経験だったので、緊張と、ヘッドフォンをつけながら歌うという事に慣れず、たくさんの失敗をしました。でもたくさんのアドバイスをもらいながら、少しずつレコーディングにも慣れてきて自分の全力を出すことが出来る様になりました。
レコーディングで苦労した事は、花粉症と重なって、いつも通りの自分の声を出すことが難しかった事です。でも和やかな雰囲気でのレコーディング、とっても楽しかったです。

The age range in KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU is wide and all the members have unique characteristics because we live in different regions, but when we work together our hearts become one. We’ll definitely show you the highest level in both singing and dancing! We’re releasing our first CD as this new lineup of members, and all of us will level up from now on. We’ll do our best to deliver you the most fun live possible, so please support us!
風光ル梟は年齢層も広く、メンバー全員が地方出身で個性豊かなメンバーばかりですが、ライブなどはみんな心を1つにして頑張っています。歌だけでなく、レベルの高いダンスパフォーマンスは必見です！新体制初のCDをリリースし、メンバー全員がこれからもっとレベルアップし、風光ル梟の楽しいライブをお届け出来る様に頑張りますので、みなさん応援よろしくお願いします！

I’m Marin Kurisu, 11 years old and in 6th grade of elementary school.
小学6年生の11歳、栗栖瑠海です。

– Tell us how you came to be a member of KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU and your thoughts after joining the group.
– 風光ル梟に加入したきっかけや、加入後の感想を教えてください。

When I was little I admired the entertainment industry and began taking dance lessons. After that I went to a vocal and dance school to learn singing, and was asked to audition for KAZEHIKARU FUKUROU. Right now there’re many things I’m not used to, but I’ll my best not to stand in the way of everyone else.
小さい時に芸能界に憧れてダンスを習い始めて、それからボーカル＆ダンスのスクールに通って歌を習っていたら、風光ル梟のオーディションに声をかけられて受けてみようと思いました。今は、慣れないことばっかりだけど、がんばって足をひっぱらないようにがんばります。

I was nervous at first, but everyone was kind so I relaxed. It was really fun.
レコーディングは、最初は緊張したけど、みんな優しかったので安心してできたので、すごく楽しめました。
