SENTO GIRL –Aizen-yu x Yuho Uchida – vol.1SENTO GIRL -愛染湯×うちだゆうほ- vol.1
SENTO GIRL is photo project aiming to show you the renaissance of Sento through the collaboration of these wonderful creators! This time, we welcomed Yuho Uchida as model.
Sento are public bathhouses which have been a part of Japanese culture for centuries and it may be worlds away from a lot of the latest Japanese culture usually featured on Tokyo Girl’s Update, but with the cooperation of TOKYO SENTO, we have begun our journey into the unique and comforting world of Sento.

We have visited Aizen-yu located in Itabashi-ku, and one of the most notable features of this Sento is, the drawing of heavenly maiden on the wall inside the bath (we’ll show it on the next series!). Yuho’s costume also looks like heavenly maiden and there you’ll witness extremely beautiful world. Stay tuned!
In the vol.1 of the series, we focus on the entrance and outside of the bath, in vol.2 we will feature more inside of the bath, and in the last vol.3 we will show pictures Yuho relaxing in the bath!
Another feature of the Sento is this classical beautiful shared space with red carpet and the beautiful drawing on the wall. You can have relaxing time even after taking bath, drinking beer or milk…whatever you like.
These photos are the result of a collaboration between model Yuho Uchida, photographer and Miss iD 2016 semifinalist mitfo, hair make-up artist hitomi, and stylist KAKO MIYAKE.
Although you might have a image that Sento is mostly local old people, however, according to people from Tokyo Sento we collaborated with, the number of young people going to Sento has been increasing recently. We hope we can help the movement to grow more with SENTO GIRL project!
