This place is another popular place for foreigners to visit. Sengoku Izakaya has been a hot topic between Rekijo (Girls who love Japanese history).
I’ve heard rumors about it, and it had a really nice atmosphere. Each private room has a theme of a warior from the Sengoku Period. Even though I have no basic knowledge on the Sengoku Period, it was cool, nice and exciting.
By the entrance, there are many armors on display.
As you go in, they give you a military leader fan (Gunbai Uchiwa) and take you to your seat. We were let in to the room of Masamune Date.
They explain the menu, and as soon as the drinks come, the worker says the words of the toast master “Sensho-! Banzai-!” in a very loud voice. This kind of service is very rare.
Tina and Alisa had bamboo steamed pork. It looked delicious!
Apparently, 70% of the people who come are women and 60% are repeaters. I guess that’s how attractive this place is. Also, the workers have their favorite warrior. This person likes Hanbei Takenaka.
This person has keychains of her favorite warrior Nobuyuki Sanada.
It must be exciting if you find a person here that has the same favorite warrior as you!
