BABYMETAL was the perfect music vehicle to hate for metalheads: they were shamelessly manufactured (oh the most hated word by music elitists everywhere); they featured dance choreography; their lyrics were not dark, desperate, and brooding; they mixed in hiphop (oh the horror) and techno in their sons; and they sang in a different language. But for some strange reason after getting over the initial wtf moment, I began listening… really digesting their sound and came to the conclusion that they are absolutely bonkers and brilliant.
You’d be forgiven if you thought that they were a gimmick and would just be the latest fad that would quickly be forgotten once another one rolls in. But their songs are well made.
