Shinjuku (新宿) is a district in western Tokyo that is known as business district. Around the west entrance of Shinjuku station, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Buildings and a forest of skyscrapers can be found in the office district. On the other hand, the east entrance features a concentration of famous department stores and youth-oriented shops, as well as one of Japan’s leading entertainment districts in Kabuki-cho. For that reason Shinjuku station is always crowded with people and known as the world’s busiest railway station, handling more than two million passengers every day.
