Shodo, calligraphy in English, is one of the Japanese traditional arts (though it has roots from Chinese calligraphy).
The title of this video program “Shojo”, comes from combining the characters for “Shodo”(calligraphy) and “Jo”(woman). It is a series where Amini showcases the beauty of Japan’s traditional culture through calligraphy.
Amini will write non-Japanese people’s name in Kanji using characters with similar readings! Please note that the Kanji names are not official in any way, Tokyo Girls’ Update and Amini picked the Kanji based on our personal preferences!
