Faint⋆Star the 1st Music Video

Details about a CD release and Faint⋆Star itself are very much under wraps, and this is attracting attention and causing expectations to run high. Every month, we run a monthly feature on the artist that secures 1st place on the ranking board, and this month for our commemorative 1st feature, we visited Faint⋆Star on the shoot of their 2nd video in order to give foreign fans the latest on the girls.

Faint⋆Star

The duo Faint⋆Star comprises of Hina and Yuria and is produced by Agehasprings, formerly behind Tomato n'Pine.
Their 1st video was filmed using stop motion, and while simple, it keeps a good tempo right up until the very end. Boasting a pleasant sound, you can really feel the quality of the song. Although as yet untitled, the song demonstrates a high quality creative sound that far surpasses other idol groups.
We have received lots of comments from overseas on Faint⋆Star's 1st video. A selection of them are introduced below.

From USA
I was a fan of Tomapine so when the initial teaser came out for faint⋆star's debut, I was really excited. The song is fantastic! I had it stuck in my head for days, it's so great. I love the PV's direction. It's simplistic but still well done and interesting. Everyone should check it out! I look forward to more from them soon!

I love the simplicity of the music video! The stopmotion makes the video stick out from other debut groups and it was very clean. This doesn't look like it was a rush job either. The colors against the white background was creative and made the girls stand out more than if they were in any other setting.
I look forward to more songs soon!

From Belgium
The song is cute and refreshing (it's the kind of song I would listen during a ride a bike in the countryside) and the PV made by StopMotion (and delete frames for some scenes) is really nice too, the 3mins 07 secs look like nearly 1mins when i watched it (3 times) so i suppose this is a great song/pv !

From England
Faint⋆Star's debut has an innocent, cheerful air around it that is approachable for all viewers and listeners I believe. The song is gentle and sweet, with mature but sweet vocals leading the song. It's a rather refreshing sound, it kind of fits in with spring in my opinion, and it allows me to feel at ease as a listener. It's actually quite addicting, and I've only listened to it a few times but already it's stuck in my mind! I think that it's a rather promising tune!

As a video, I love the use of stop-motion animation all the way through; it's fun, quirky and ever-changing, keeping up a nice pace and allowing me to never become bored - I like that greatly about the video, because it doesn't stay the same all the way through.
Even the expressions of the girls was addicting to see, they really made me smile when I watched them and saw what they were doing and the fun they were having. For a video that uses a simple technique like stop-motion animation, it was directed beautifully and conveyed a fun and enjoyable experience for the audience. It was certainly interesting and fun, and fit the pace of the song wonderfully!

A Charm That Is Slowly Being Revealed

The much-awaited 2nd video is now here!
Using projector, several scenes were shot this April inside 2.5D, a pop culture stronghold in Shibuya.
Dressed in white, patterns were projected onto the girls' outfits, and 2.5 dimensional outer space and Shibuya street-scapes were created. Following in the footsteps of their 1st video, the 2 girls' performance combined with digital effects has made for a cool, unique 2nd video.

Faint⋆Star the 2nd Music Video

As with their 1st video, the sound of the 2nd continues to be light and poppy, but there is also a sentimental feel to it which makes it come across more artistic than the 1st. "レ・ミ・ラ(pronounce: Let Me Love)" is the title that has been given to the 2nd video. The song has a melody that is both charming and catchy. After just one listen, you will find yourself humming along as the song plays in your head.

On Japan's fiercely competitive idol scene, Faint⋆Star is a duo that exudes a certain uniqueness and releases top quality songs in succession.
Still with little domestic media coverage, and ahead of all the rest, we have a comment from the girls for their foreign fans following them on Tokyo Girls' Update.
Check out the interview footage below, and we hope you will look forward to more from the girls.
