As they prepare to take the stage at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive in Austin, Texas (USA), Perfume have launched a new project named Translyrics on their global site in order to crowdsource the translation of their song lyrics into 46 different languages!

Perfume, one of the international ambassadors of Japanese music, are on a collision course with the world’s largest music, film, and interactive festivals and they are coming with a “Laser Beam” focus to have their voices echo around the world. Symbolically bridging the worlds of interactive and music with their headlining performance on March 17th, Perfume aims to blur the lines even further with the help of their loyal fans.

Those wanting to help share their love of Perfume with the world can contribute their lyric translations of 30 selected songs (including the yet unreleased SXSW mix of “STORY”) by signing in with their Facebook or Twitter account. Even if you don’t feel confident in your translation abilities, you can watch the music videos for those songs while being able to see the subtitles that have been completed. There’s also the section of the site where you can download 3D scanned data of Perfume and create your own video to share with the world. There’s already one where Perfume was reimagined as a trio of dancing bears!

Aside from their plans for global domination, Perfume also have their first single of 2015 “Relax In The City/Pick Me Up”, releasing on April 29th.
