Negicco x Sachiko Kobayashi Join Forces to Praise Their Hometown of Niigata! Will There be a Giant Leek?

As a part of a project of “Culture City of East Asia 2015 Niigata”, the “Niigata Hasshin Project” has been established by the citizens, companies, and groups of Niigata. It has also been announced that Sachiko Kobayashi and Negicco will sing the “Niigata Jiman Song” (Niigata Pride Song) to liven up the event.

Sachiko Kobayashi is one of the most popular and traditional enka (music genre considered to resemble traditional Japanese music stylistically) singers in Japan today. She is now 61 years old, but known as having good understanding to young people’s culture. Recently she has been attending comic market (comike) to sell her goods and enjoy the comike culture. Then, she challenges to collaborate with idols! So interesting.
The “Niigata Jiman Song” is produced by Yasuharu Konishi, and composed by the sound producer of Negicco, connie. It is the first time for Sachiko Kobayashi and Negicco to collaborate, and they will appeal the beauty of Niigata through singing.
A shooting session of the promotion video will be held in June 6, at the Niigata City History Museum. The PV will have the general public singing and dancing together in the PV. For more information, check the “Culture City of East Asia 2015 Niigata”!
