Nana Owada Announces Graduation From AKB48

Nana Owada announced her graduation from AKB48 during the end of the “Boku no Taiyou” performance at the AKB48 Theater on November 29, 2016.
In a late night tweet later that evening, Owada apologized for the sudden announcement and asked for fans to keep supporting her until the end of her days as an idol. Her final appearances have yet to be determined.
Nana Owada joined AKB48 as a 15th generation member in 2013 and has been a member of Team A and Team B. She was double-cast as Hiroko Yoshinaga alongside Mako Kojima in the musical “AKB49 ~ Ren’ai Kinshi Jourei~” (2014). She was again paired with Kojima in Majisuka Gakuen 4 and the musical “Majisuka Gakuen ~Kyoto Keppu Shuugaku Ryokou” (2015). She was a senbatsu member for the AKB48 singles “Labrador Retriever” (2014), “Kibouteki Refrain” (2014), and “Bokutachi wa Tatakawanai” (2015) and was ranked #75 (2015) and #62 (2016) in the AKB48 general elections.
