The leader of ºC-ute, Maimi Yajima held the event for her 8th Photobook “PURE EYES” at Shijuku Fukuya, Tokyo, on April 7.
Although she’s been to the Hawaii islands several times, it was the first time to visit the island of Hawaii.
“There is a place called “Hiro” in the east, the slow atmosphere and its beauty made the shooting relaxed, unconstrained. I checked with my own eyes, that there are both kawaii-me and energetic-matured-me in the book.
When asked her favorite scenes, “there’s a picture I sat cross-legged a bit. I guess it was adopted because I behaved silly in front of a camera at that time. It was just before we had a lunch so, I felt exhilarated.”
She smiled shyly, and revealed her thoughts for the Hawaiian foods she had, “Food is delicious in Hawaii, I ate burgers and spam which I love. Because I ate too much, you can see my face became chubby as the shooting went on.”
Speaking of Maimi Yajima, she is known as a rain bringer but, it didn’t rain a lot this time.
“There’s a fantastic photo in the book. The moon shines in the night sky of Hiro, reflecting my silhouette. That’s the only part we got rained.”
Oh, then you still got rained 🙂
