AKB48 Blasts Out Previews for the Rest of the MVs from “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby”!

Just minutes after one of Minami Takahashi‘s final appearances on Music Station on December 4, 2015, previews of the rest of the MVs from her final single with AKB48, “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby” (release date: December 9) were unleashed! The MVs for “Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby”, “Amanojaku Batta” (Type-C exclusive track) by Team 8, and “365 Nichi no Kamihikouki” were mentioned in the previously published articles in the links below.

“Kimi wo Kimi wo Kimi wo…” (Type-A exclusive track) features the “next generation” senbatsu (Nana Owada, Megu Taniguchi, Yuka Tano, Mion Mukaichi, Tomu Muto, Ryoka Oshima, Nana Okada, Saya Kawamoto, Mako Kojima, Haruka Komiyama, Juri Takahashi, Miki Nishino, Yuiri Murayama, Nagisa Sakaguchi, Miyuki Watanabe, and Haruka Kodama) in a montage of photo shoots. This is one that fans of the newer generations of the 48 groups will be eagerly awaiting the full version of for sure!
In the MV for “Yasashii Place” (Type-A exclusive track) Team A is trapped in a geometric prison made out of fiber optics and glass with no way to escape. Perhaps there is a clue related to the key flashing upon the screen and the hawk flying through the air?
Natsumi Tanaka takes the center position of the “Renacchi Sousenkyo” senbatsu like a Boss in “Madonna no Senbatsu” (Type-B exclusive track) and is joined by Anna Iriyama, Haruka Shimazaki, Ami Maeda, Yuka Tano, Mion Mukaichi, Shinobu Mogi, Ryoka Oshima, Nanami Sato, Sumire Sato, Sayaka Yamamoto, Miru Shiroma, Yui Kojina, Natsumi Matsuoka, Anna Murashige, and of course, Rena Kato. There are 2 Parurus in the video! Are they clones? Twins? What will happen?
The MV for “Onee-san no Hitorigoto” (Type-B exclusive track) has Team K cheerfully waking up in the morning and going about their day in a setting that looks like it was taken out of a musical. For some reason it seems like for the part where the members play guitars, the one member most known for having skills, Sayaka Yamamoto, was left out. Since the focus is more on theatrics instead of realism, it’s probably better to put aside that minor detail?
“Kin no Hane wo Motsu Hito yo” (Type-C exclusive track) is an uptempo punk song and the members of Team B are factory workers facing their last day of work. With the industrial setting of the MV, it feels like an update to the B5 classic stage song “Yuuki no Hammer” but cranked up several notches!
In the MV for “Nanka, Chotto, Kyuu ni…” (Type-D exclusive track) the members of Team 4 visit a museum/showcase where they are on display wearing stylish outfits like mannequins in a store window. The reactions are overwhelmingly positive as they smile and gasp at disbelief at their idealized selves. How would you react if you saw something similar though?
The MV for Minami Takahashi’s graduation song “Senaka Kotoba” (Type-D exclusive track) is heavy and not just because of the weight that the group’s diminutive leader is pulling behind her. Each rope in her hands is connected to a word symbolizing the strength she has given to AKB48 for the past 10 years. Starting with Minami Minegishi and Haruna Kojima, the members watch her and place their hands on her back to push her forward, a gesture showing their support as she moves to a different phase in her life. If you are moves to tears as easily as Takamina, you may want to find someplace to watch it where you can cry as much as you like because it is difficult to watch and not be moved.
“Kuchibiru ni Be My Baby” will be released in 4 limited edition versions and 4 regular versions with DVDs. All types contain voting codes for AKB48 Request Hour Setlist Best 100 2016/AKB48 Solo Request Hour.
