Day 4 of AKB48 Set List Request Hour Best 1035 2015 at Tokyo Dome City Hall on January 24 was highlighted by several memorable solo performances and an “invasion” by rivals Nogizaka 46. A Majisuka Gakuen stage play and an end to the HKT48 tour were announced.

Coming in at #99 was Yuki Kashiwagi’s “Birthday Wedding”, tied with “TWO ROSES” the duet of Rena and Jurina Matsui. Kashiwagi took the stage again for “Shortcake” when it ranked in at #84. Sayaka Yamamoto followed with her solo song “Yume no dead body” which was tied with “Kinou yori Motto Suki” for #82.

Aika Ota ranked in at #93 with “Heso ga Magaru” from Watarirouka Hashiritai’s 10th single “Shounen yo Uso wo Tsuke!” and despite specifically requesting fans to not vote for it, Haruka Shimazaki’s solo song “Douki” ranked in at #90. Reluctant to perform by herself, she was joined by the rest of the 9th generation members (the character for douki in the song means “incentive or motive” but can be written to mean “classmate”, in this case her fellow 9th generation members) for the song.

Additional dates for “HKT48 National Tour ~Zenkoku Toitsu Owatoranken~” were announced. Perhaps management took the name of the tour literally (owatoranken is Hakata dialect for “it’s not over yet”)? According to the announcement, the tour which began last September will end with a two-day finale at Yokohama Arena on June 27-28.

“Heavy Rotation”, which was the #1 ranked song for Request Hour Setlist Best 100 in 2011 and 2012, ranked in at #88 for 2015.

Following the customary “Koko de Rhodes da, Koko de Tobe!” during the encore, Rino Sashihara, backed up by the other members of HKT48 dressed in happi coats, performing her solo song “Setsunai Reply”, releasing balloons into the audience. The afternoon performance came to a close with “Kibouteki Refrain”.

The evening show started with the red-hot “Ambulance” at #80 before cooling off slightly with “First Rabbit” at #78 and the sugary sweet “Kimi Dake ni Chu! Chu! Chu!” by the all-star former Kenkyuusei unit Tentoumu Chu! at #68.

The trend of solo songs continued with “honorary lifetime SKE48 Kenkyuusei” Kaori Matsumura’s single “Matsumurabu” at #76, enka songstress Misaki Iwasa’s “Mujin Eki” at #67, and Mayu Watanabe’s “Synchro Tokimeki” at #62.

Kana Kobayashi’s beloved “Kurukurupaー” might have fallen to #63 after peaking at #14 in 2012 but, considering it was up against 1034 other songs, only falling 5 places isn’t that big of a drop. Haruka Nakagawa took some time off from being a superstar in Jakarta to join her fellow 1st generation Team B members for “Shonichi” at #61 before sharing her overseas success with the audience.

“Hashire Penguin”, which ranked #1 in 2013, fell to #60, “Heart Ereki” fell 8 places to #57 and Kojizaka 46 (Haruna Kojima and Nogizaka 46) made their Request Hour Debut at #54 with “Kaze no Rasen”.

The second and third songs of the encore for the evening performance were “Kanojo” by Sakura Miyawaki and “Yowamushi Kemushi” by Yuki Kashiwagi. Miyawaki was so nervous about the performance that she began crying on stage, causing Minami Takahashi to exclaim “Kawaii~!”, resulting in Miyawaki’s tear-stained cheeks to blush. Plans to have a stage adaptation of the popular AKB48 delinquent school drama into a stage play focusing on “Gekikara” (Rena Matsui” and “Otabe” (Yui Yokoyama) were announced. The play is scheduled to run from May 14-19 at AiiA Theater Tokyo, the same venue as the sold out AKB49 musical so get your tickets as soon as you can!
